DISCLAIMER: I am not bad mouthing fans and am not trying to preach. I am merely saying my piece and clearing up something that doesn't seem to be reaching many people. I don't hate Twilight Fanatics and am not looking to start anything. Merely my opinion. To each their own.

I recently read :iconschellen:'s journal to which she provided this link: [link]

Now...have you all fucking lost your minds?!

I like the books and think the characters and plot are very interesting. I will also admit to liking the movie and sometimes I get caught up in talking about the book a lot. Nothing wrong with that. And even though I think it's ridiculous, the fanatics that go ape shit over the book and go absolutely nuts have every right to do so. But my point is that you shouldn't ruin a good thing or blow things to moon.

There are people who will read twilight and hate it. There will be people who won't read it and hate it. There will always be someone who will say that the writing and characters suck. There will even be people who might burn an entire stack of twilight novels just to say show how much they think it sucks. This is all completely ok! If you love it and you know people who love it, then just be happy with that. Don't start a giant shit storm about how everyone who hates the book is wrong or mean or stupid. No one is right or wrong, everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Anyway, back to the main point. I know I said that everyone is entitled to an opinion but to turn a book and a film into a religion is pretty much insane.

First off, as great as the Cullens are, they are fictional. We all have those moments when we think how cool it would be to chill with our favorite characters but unless you find some sort of crazy loop hole in the whole reality thing, it isn't going to happen.

Second, and this is my opinion, Twilight isn't the greatest vampire novel. Sorry, but it just isn't. While I like the descriptions used in the book and the whole super strength and super speed thing, I do disagree on a few things. Main one being is that not all vampires die and instantly become good looking or dress like a metrosexual. Also, I completely disagree with the vampire reproduction thing in the last book, if a vampire is dead...all of them is dead...even their penis...sorry. My suggestion, read some of the classics or even some of the new ones: Bram Stoker's Dracula, Any of the Anne Rice novels(Interview with a Vampire, Queen of the Damned)or other ones.

Third, books are fun but they are books. I love to read a lot, but I do get up and go outside and enjoy what life has to offer. To completely shut out reality is really unhealthy.

And last, keep in mind that people will be who they are no matter what you do. Does this contradict almost everything I just said, hell yes. But the main thing I'm trying to get across is this: A)There are people who hate Twilight...big deal, say your piece or ignore it and live your life. B)Shoving the fact that you love twilight or that it's your life at every given opportunity does not show people that you're an individual...it makes people think you're fucking annoying and lack social skills. C) It's fine and technically legal if you want to go about being crazy over the book, but just be mindful that what you do will could make a stereotype about anyone that remotely enjoys the book and could ruin the whole damn thing. and D) I apologize for saying this but...GROW THE FUCK UP! Don't go on an online rampage to get every last fan to attack someone for saying they don't like the book!

Just stating again, I don't mean to be preachy or negative, but I personally think it's gotten a bit ridiculous, that's all.

I mostly hated Twilight because of those stupid fans. I've almost finished reading the last book and I have to admit, it's not as bad as I thought it was, BUT THE FANGIRLS ARE AWFUL. It doesn't bother me at all if they like it, either, but when they start preaching and attacking people who have different opinions, it starts to suck.

SO, AMEN in a non-religious way!
